How much do you charge for ___________ ?

Most homeowners want to know what needs to happen to fix the problem or make a change and how much it'll cost. Since each home is unique, I usually have to see what you've got, then I can give you an idea of what needs to happen and estimate the costs. .

What is your hourly rate?

My clients almost always prefer to know up front what their repair or remodel will likely cost. That's why I go by the job not an hourly rate.

Do you work outside the Bay Area?

No. I'm based in Oakland and run my jobs in the east bay.

What does building to code mean?

Building to code is a way to ensure the safety of a job. Each trade has its own specific codes required to ensure a minimum standard of safety and quality of work.

Are you a green builder?

I am not a certified green builder, but prefer (and encourage) my clients to consider green building options.

We have some discolored tile in the bathroom, can this be fixed?

The short answer is yes, individual tiles can be removed and replaced. However, discoloration often points to a long term water problem. Inspect for leaks nearby and check framing for dry rot. This also applies to discoloration on the flooring around the toilet and at the corners of the tub.
